Stress Managment

"Midterms are next week! And please do not forget that the anual funraiser is this week as well.", say the teachers are they put a bigger load on their students. Being a high school student, there are plenty of reasons why one might be stressed. For me, the biggest of these factors are grades and being involved in school activities. For example, I am very determained to go to a great college. For this reason I am very concerened with my grades. Taking on more classes and doing the best I can do, I try to keep up my GPA. Along with striving for the best grade, I also find it importnant to stay involved in school activities. I enjoy leading most of these activities and making sure they are well organized and successfull. These things, together with other aspects of my life, make me extremly stressed.
When I begin to get stressed, I have plenty of phisical, emotional, cognative, and behavriol effects. The phissical signs may include stomach pain, head aches, and back pain. I aslo become very moody and angry. When I am under stress I bite my nails and my lips. My head begins to race and can not get my thoughts together. All these things are a result from school related stress.
It is important that I learn to manage this stress before it gets out of hand. There are certain steps that I can take to reduce the stress symptoms. One of these ssteps is as simple as just breathing. Closing my eyes and inhaling big and deep, can help clear my mind and allow me to focus on the task at hand. Another technique that seems to work for me is making lists. I make a detailed aganda describing whatI need to get done that day. These lists help me keep my thoughts organized. This way, I do not stress about what I have to do next, I simply concerntrate on whatI am doing at the time, and go down the list. Getting more sleepk and eating more, along with giving myself more "me time" might help as well. School and being sucsessful at school can be dangerously stressful. Still, practicing good stress-releveing techniques, may help any student manage their stress.

digital story

Health. We all know that health is a very important subject in school. It prepares us for the "real world".

Although is it an important subject, health is not the hardest subject to learn. It can all be summarized into four catagories: Phisical, mental, emotional, amd socail. We use all of these aspects in health everyday.

One way that all of these are used, and probably the most ovious, is phisical activiy such as basketball and working out. Basketball uses all aspects together. You have to be mentally and emotionaly tough. You have to be in shape to do all the awesome moves! It is also a social game is wich you interact with others. All the exercise you do keeps you extremly healthy.

Working out in the gym incoperates all four aspects of Health too. Activities like doing push ups, Up down up down! woooo! Running, doing cruches( lots of crunches!), rrrrrr! Lifting heavy heavy weights, and keeping hydrated. mmmm! All of these things pay off and make you extremly buf (results may vary).

Still, did you know that other acticities can also include the four aspects of health? Yup things that don't even include a types of sports ball or a gym! Things such as house hold chores! Now be patient I will explain it all as we go along.

Lets get started by simply doing some dusting, not so hard right? Okay now, that you are so happy, lets get into the phisical part of chores, you know, where you have to use your muscles. Vacuming! yay! you have to use your whole body weight to pull the vacume back and forth, back and forth. Oh! don't miss that spot! Ironing also takes hard work. Your arm muscles must work hard to get that clothes just right. Eventually, you get tierd and weary, but you must go on! The chores are not done! Scrubbing the floors puts a strian on your whole body!

Especially your knees and back! come on! scrub scrub! Oh come on! you can do it! I told you it was phisically tough! get up!

The next part of health is mental. You have to use those brains to do chores too! For exapmle, choosing between all the chemicals and tools can be very confusing! They all have different jobs to come together and leave one clean house! Once you have it all figured out it is time to mentally prepare yourself to attact that house!

Another mental part of chores is doing all the cooking! You accually have to read a book with words, ingrediants, and numbers in them. It is hard to get it all just right. You must be very carefull to read carfully because you mught not be able to fix it later on. It is also hard to identify what you have to use. You must be very carefull and concernterate when using sharp objects. Wait watch what you are doing! concentrate! You must measure everything out very precislly! See! there you go! Once you get started it's not so hard after all! mmm! that smells good already!

The next part of health are emotions. Doing chores can make you frusterated and tierd but it can also make you very happy! Cleaning can make you so happy, before you know it you are even dancing to your music and enjoying yourself! Once you are done you feel proud for all the hard work you have done!

Now, last but not least, chores can be a social thing, which is the last aspect of health. Cooking and having dinner with your family keeps you alive by eating healthy food but it also gives you a chance to catch up with eveybody. You discuss your life and learn more and more about eachother. Before you know it, your work has payed off and you are a happy family enjoying a nice dinner!

See wasn't this fun! It is so much better than being lazy, laying around and getting unhelathy or "fluffy". Becuase stuffing your face with crap has nothing to do with any of they health aspects and it certainly does not keep you healthy!
